Wondering if I should screw in a clear glass panel in front of the iridescent glass mosaic backsplash (behind cooktop)... has anyone heard of this done before?

thanks

The answer to your question is no, unless you are creating a particular decorative effect with the sheet of glass.

What is the purpose for the clear glass panel? Maybe we should also ask the brand of the iridescent glass mosaic.

I may be jumping to conclusions here, but if the sheet of glass is supposed to protect the iridescent glass, it is probably a waste of time. The iridescent glass should be no more delicate than the sheet of glass and the clear glass will probably show food splatters more easily.

Thank you for your input. I was wondering if that was a good way to protect grout between the mosaic from grease splatters... but I will take your advice and bypass that idea.

thanks

Hi again. Grout sealers do a good job at protecting the grout from grease. Be sure to wait 28 days to complete the curing process. Did you get a chance to read this article about grout?
