I am a mosaic tile supplier, artist and teacher in Maryland. The molded glass tiles are one of the most popular tiles I sell and I personally love to work with them. My problem is I cannot find a reliable manufacturer. I have been dealing with manufacturers from China and it's not working out for a variety of reasons including language barriers, pricing and importing, and slow ability to re-stock as I sell these tiles almost as soon as I receive them. I would also like to get all of the sizes from one manufacturer. I am particularly interested in 3/8", 3/4" and 1" molded glass tiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays to all.

Hi Kathy:
Glad to see you join the site. I was hoping to get more questions on mosaics. I started making a few garden stones with some left over tiles a few years ago and got hooked.
I am not sure if you refer to molded glass tiles as a very specific type or a generic glass tile (see the attached link for definitions: http://www.aboutglasstile.com/en/varieties.html)
The manufacturers listed in the Marketplace of this site are reputable and should be able to help you with supplies: http://www.aboutglasstile.com/en/marketplace.html Contact information is available.
Here is a shameless plug for our company but also a good hint for you. We manufacture in North America and our production standards are very high. Our customers demand perfection so small variances in production such as shade variations, small surface imperfections etc. do not meet our high quality standards and most of that product either gets recycled or disposed.
You may be able to work out a deal with manufacturers that would allow you access to those imperfect products at a good price. From personal experience in making mosaics I know that this type of tile is perfect for most hobbyists and mosaicists.
Good tiling, Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2005. |

| Thanks for your reply. I was referring to fused glass tiles. Also, I think I did send my company info and request to your company. Could you make sure I get in touch with the right person. Thanks so much for help. |
